Two Van-Far softball players have received all-state honors in Class 1.
Jordan Garner received all-state accolades for the second year in a row. This time, Garner was named a first-team, all-state player as an infielder after receiving second-team honors in 2016.
Garner earned first-team honors after compiling a fielding percentage of more than .900 and batter over .500 offensively.
Makayla McAfee also earned all-state honors as she was named to the second team as an outfielder. McAfee’s quickness was on display all season as she finished with 14 stolen bases.
She also batted over .400 and had a better than .900 fielding percentage.
