Agape House receives Griffin Foundation Grant

Agape House of Vandalia board members met in regular session Tuesday, May 15. They were pleased to learn the house had been awarded a grant of $2,300 from the Griffin Family Foundation of Mexico. This has been used to pay for a recently installed hot water heater.
In other business, board members took note of the attractive new landscaping stones in the front bed.
House manager Doris Donoho reported 48 persons, including 12 children, had stayed at the house in April. She reported minor repairs had been completed.
Board members have given two tours of the facility to various groups in the past month. Members volunteered to represent Agape House at the annual United Way of Audrain County interview next month as well as an informational meeting of the Central Missouri Community Action Center on June 19.
The next board meeting will be held Tuesday, June 19.
Board members in attendance were Carlene Galloway, Janet Heim, Karen Holbrook, Sterling Holbrook, Elwood LaRue, Floy Oliver, and Kay Robnett.
Monetary gifts received in April include the following: United Way of Audrain County; Edgewood Baptist Church, of Bowling Green; Ramsey Creek Baptist Church, of Clarksville; Bethlehem Baptist Church, of Centralia; New Harmony Christian Women’s Fellowship, Curryville Baptist Church and Elm Grove Baptist Church, all of Curryville; Farber Baptist Church and Judy Hull, of Farber; Grand Crossings Baptist Association, of Fulton; Mary Scheffler, of Kirkwood; Laddonia Christian Church; Knights of Columbus Council No. 6473, of Louisiana; Lockewood Park Baptist Church and Friendship Baptist Church, of Mexico; Hopewell Baptist Church and John Yost, of Thompson; and Southside Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, and First Christian Church, all of Vandalia.
