Highlights from the week
A church service was held in the chapel on Sunday morning.
Jokes and trivia were the highlights on Monday morning and in the afternoon, Irvin Kittrell purchased watermelon to host a Watermelon Feast.
“Rhinestones and Sequins” provided music on Tuesday morning and shortly after the music, Tim and Marty lead the painting class. In the afternoon, the Veterans Council meeting was held in the dining room.
A game of “Pass the Trash” was enjoyed by the card players on Wednesday morning and in the afternoon, a Bingo game was sponsored by Dwight in memory of his sister, Carol.
Bingo and pool were the highlights on Thursday morning. The Blackout Bingo was sponsored by American Legion Post No. 552 from Martinsburg. In the afternoon, Pam Toupous, C.N.A., was recognized as the September 2015 Employee of the Month.  Eddie Durham, Custodial Worker was recognized as the September 2015 Rookie of the Month.  Congratulations to Pam and Eddie.
In the evening, residents enjoyed smoked pork burgers and brats with all the fixings for their supper.
Family Day was held on Saturday.  VFW Post No. 6276 and No. 3772 posted colors at the opening ceremony. Amanda Smith sang the National Anthem and a Car Show was held. Everyone enjoyed a BBQ lunch and music provided by Kelly Stanford.
On Saturday, a group of residents gathered in the activity room for a game of Mexican Train Dominoes.
Spotlights
The Alzheimer Support Group will meet on Wednesday, October 21 at 1:30 p.m. at the facility.  The public is welcome to attend.
Family Day will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday, September 18. All resident’s families and friends are invited for the fun, food, and festivities.
We hope everyone will attend the September 26, Annual Poker Run sponsored by the MVH Assistance League and the Audrain County VFW Post No. 3772.
