Several Audrain County amateur radio operators participated in the annual 24-hour Field Day event June 23-24 in Mexico.
Members of the Audrain Emergency Communications, Inc. (AECI) utilized their emergency communications trailer in an attempt to make contacts throughout the country.
Visitors also stopped by the Barnes Shelter to see the radio operators at work and to learn how they too could make a contact of their own.
The event allowed AECI to not only use their new trailer, but to show public safety and other emergency officials how amateur radios can help them in a time of need.
The trailer has a kitchen and a bathroom and could be used for an extended amount of time during a crisis.
