The 20/20 Vision Membership promotion begins Jan. 5 and ends Jan. 11, 2020. During the promotional period, the join fee is reduced to $20, a savings of $30 to join the Y.

Family FUN day Sunday is also set for Jan. 5. This is the perfect day for the entire family to come to the Y because all children up to age 11 will have supervision in the gym or in the Child Watch room.
The Wellness Center will be open for all eligible members plus basketball and pickleball will be available in the gym.
A new instructor-led, 12-week program for 3- and 4-year olds, Tumble, Move, and Groove is set to begin Jan. 14. The program will focus on tumbling alternating with fun activities, such as jump rope, hopscotch, and interactive games. A similar 12-week program is offered for 5- to 8-year olds.
Let’s Get Moving, beginning Jan. 14. This program will focus on fun activities, hand-eye coordination games, and tumbling moves to encourage your child to remain active. Both programs are available for members and non-members. The last day to register without a late fee is Jan. 6.
Registration for Youth Recreation Basketball (K-6 grades) started Dec. 31 and goes through Jan. 27. A late fee will be applied to all registrations Jan. 28 through Jan. 31. Games will be played on Saturdays starting Feb. 29 through March 21.
The Mile Club Challenge opens today for any interested members. Members will have the choice of completing 100, 250, or 500 miles in a six month period. All activities must take place at the Y and can include walking, running, jogging, biking, or attending fitness classes. Those who complete their challenge will receive a T-shirt.
The first Coffee and Muffins for 2020 will be held Jan. 9 from 8:30 –10:30 a.m. In addition, morning fitness classes on that day will feature a “Beach Party” Chair Class beginning at 9:15 a.m.
Members will have the option in 2020 to sign up for Wellness Center Orientations and Weight Training 101 sessions beginning in mid-January. One hour sessions will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays.
2019 ended with the first Holly Jolly Membership Party on Dec. 10 in the Y Café. Vegetable soup, chili, and assorted desserts were served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and then again from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Two successful community wide drives, the Diaper Drive and the Fur-Ever Friend stuffed animal drive, benefitted the First Baptist Church food pantry and the residents of the local nursing care facility.
