“The kids played extremely well,” said Van-Far head coach Joe Basinger. “They were doing the things they needed to defensively. The pressure really effected them and we were able to capitalize off their turnovers.. Offensively we just did a lot of good things in transition.”
Knocks off Elsberry
The 7th grade boys followed up that win with a 41-13 victory over Elsberry in spite of being without leading scorer Trey Miller.
Treyson Culwell finished with 16 points, Wilburn had eight points, Wilson added six points, both Riley Culwell and Johnson had four points, Dillion Minor added two points, and Devin Fleming scored one point.
“I thought we played really well,” Basinger said. “It was a confidence boost for some of the kids who stepped up and took care of some of those roles.”
