Sterling and Karen Holbrook
Sterling and Karen Conklin Holbrook, Farber, have just returned from celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on a Carnival cruise to Nova Scotia. Don and Carolyn Fuher Hatfield, Mexico, accompanied the couple.
Mrs. Hatfield was a bridesmaid in their wedding, June 3, 1962, at Benton City Christian Church.
They are the parents of two daughters, four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter: Teresa Hart and son Colton and daughter Caitlyn and granddaughter Cambria, Kirksville; Lisa Jennings and daughter Kelsey and son Noah, Columbia.
In St. Louis, Southwest Airlines surprised the couple with two crowns and pictures taken in the cockpit of the jet.
The anniversary party met Mr. Holbrook’s cousins, Louise Awmiller and her son and wife, Craig and Debbie Awmiller, in Boston for a short visit. Mr. Holbrook had not seen the cousins for over 20 years.
Other sites visited were Portland, Maine; St. John’s, New Brunswick; Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia; and Cape Breton Island.
