Van-Far’s FBLA hosted its 4th Annual “Paint It Pink” Night as the boys and girls basketball teams battled Mark Twain last Friday evening.
Fans and players wore pink to bring awareness to fighting cancer.
A “Paint It Pink” Silent Auction was held. Many fans also purchased “Shooting Out Cancer” T-shirts.
Several in the crowd also held pink signs when they were asked to stand, as they stood up in honor of those who have either passed away from the disease, to honor those currently in the fight, or to recognize their own fight with cancer.
A touching tribute came at the beginning of the boys basketball game as player Treyson Culwell hugged his father Shannon Culwell, Jr., who is currently fighting the disease.
A Survivor Walk was held as those affected by cancer walked in between cheerleaders at half court to the applause of the crowd.
Pink Swag Contest winners were Colin Wilburn and Rebecca Motley.
