William (Bill) Franklin Parrott, age 63, of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 14, at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green, with Rev. Jerry Gamm officiating. Burial was in the Curryville Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 13.
William was born Feb. 20, 1951 in Mexico, the son of Walter Owen and Georgia Dean Springer Parrott. He married Sandra Kay Dixon in Curryville on Feb. 11, 1989. She survives. Other survivors include four daughters, Jennifer Smith and husband Ron of Lee Summit, Deanna Feldmann and husband Paul of St. Clement, Army Sergeant Laura Parrott of Savannah, Ga., and Debra Parrott and fiancé Mitchell Winter of Fulton; one son, Joshua Parrott of Vandalia; four grandsons, Cody and Tony Smith and Ethan and Owen Feldmann; one granddaughter, Anna Parrott; two brothers, Donald Parrott and wife Betty and John Parrott and wife Karen, all of Mexico; two sisters, Ruth Self and husband Raymond of Sedalia and Diane Sedgwick of Slocomb, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Walter Parrott Jr. and Michael Parrott; and one sister, Janet Campbell.
William grew up in the Mexico area and lived in the Pike/Audrain County area since marriage.
He worked as an over the road truck driver for many years and then hauled concrete locally for Mark Twain Redi Mix for the last several years.
William enjoyed barbequing, camping and spending time with his family.
Serving as pallbearers were Billy Claywell, Jerry Dixon, Dennis Dixon, Bob Giltner, Jim Stewart, and Paul Feldmann.
