The 8th grade Indians won their game 40-30 after outscoring North Callaway 25-12 in the second half.
“We started out really good,” Basinger said. “We spread the floor and took advantage of our ball handling ability and took it to the rim…we made some adjustments at halftime to counter their zone a little bit.”
Van-Far was down by nine points in the third quarter before ending on an 11-2 run. A put-back at the buzzer tied the game. Van-Far made 9-of-12 free throws in the fourth to seal the win. Lathyn McMorris hit a big 3-pointer in the final minutes.
