With their 20-16 victory over Winfield last week, the Van-Far/Community R-VI cooperative football program officially clinched the No. 4 seed. Though Bowling Green won the head-to-head matchup two weeks ago, the Bobcats didn’t fight for what could have been home field advantage in districts.
The Indians, with 27.85 points to Bowling Green’s 26.93 points, will host their Class 2, District 5 game at 7 p.m. Friday, October 26 in Vandalia.
Since it is a district game, no game passes will be accepted at the gate. Admission will cost $3 for adults and $2 for children.
Vandalia businesses are being encouraged to put out their black and gold flags to show their support for the Indians football team, who is seeking revenge for their earlier loss to the Bobcats.
The Vandalia Leader has also produced window banners to be displayed on windows in town thanks to sponsors Betty Davis Insurance, Shear Platinum, B&B Electric, and Trico.
