The Van-Far cross country team had one All-EMO Conference runner at the annual meet held recently in North Callaway.
The Indians placed seventh out of seven teams but were led by Sam Hazel’s second-team all-conference run. He finished the race in 18:40 for eighth place.

“Every boy had a PR and ran a minute to two minutes faster than they have all year,” said Van-Far head coach Kris Cross. “I was extremely pleased with everyone’s performance.”
The Lady Indians were led by Maddie McAfee, just missed earning second-team all-conference honors. McAfee took 14th with a time of 24:24, which was two minutes faster than her previous best.
At the Bowling Green Invite, Hazel was 60th with a time of 19:17 in a large field of runners.
Other runners were Troy (19:50), Caldwell (21:16), Wilburn (22:23), Childs (24:10), and Orr (25:12). There were 183 runners in the boys race.
