Madelynn Caldwell is my artist of the week. She is in Mrs. Parsons’s third grade class. The third grade students are working on contest pieces. The students had to pick an animal and draw it in their natural habitat. The students focused on layering the colors with colored pencil. We also, focused on creating the illusion of depth, which gives the artwork more dimension. Madelynn did an amazing job creating her animal’s habitat! She is a wonderful student to have in the studio! The third grade students are really excited about having the opportunity to have their artwork chosen for the contest. I can only pick eight students artwork to send to the Missouri Art Educators Association contest. It is going to be really hard to decided which eight!
