Leave those smokes in the car when headed to the Van-Far campus from now on. Board members last week approved a motion to ban all types of tobacco usage on the campus.
Taking the action of many school districts across the country, the board unanimously voted to put the ban in place.
Superintendent Christopher Felmlee agreed it was time to make the change.
“This new policy covers the entire campus,” said Felmlee.
For some time smoking and the use of tobacco products has been banned inside the buildings but did not necessarily cover outdoor areas such as the sports bleachers.
