The Van-Far Almuni and Friends hosted men’s and women’s basketball games featuring nearly 50 alumni participants last Saturday inside the Van-Far Jr./Sr. High School gymnasium. Fans recognized players who graduated in the 1990s through 2018.
“I would like to thank all the players; they were fantastic,” said alumnus Brett Reading. “They displayed wonderful effort and demeanor all night. It was truly a great night to reminisce with old friends and classmates. Really appreciate Coach Saladin for making the trip.”
The white shirts team won the boys game on Nick Barnes’ sudden-death free thrown, 63-62.
Mike Smith had the play of the night when he caught a lob pass from his brother Matt for a two-handed slam dunk.
The white shirts beat the black shirts team in the girls game as well, 18-12.
