Christmas is right around the corner, and several local events are scheduled for the upcoming shopping season.
The Community Craft Bazaar is scheduled for Saturday, November 16, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Community R-VI School.
There will be various booths featuring hand made crafts, jewelry, Pampered Chef, Thirty-One, and more. There will also be a concession stand open for breakfast and lunch.

The following weekend, the Van-Far Character+ will be hosting a holiday craft fest on November 23, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Van-Far High School gym. Shoppers can also enjoy food booths that will available in the cafeteria.
That same day, the Vandalia Chamber of Commerce has combined this year’s Hometown Christmas with Mexico’s country station, KWWR 96, for their “Christmas in the Country” give-a-way.
There will be a drawing at 2 p.m. for chamber bucks. The grand prize winner will win $100 in chamber bucks, second place will receive $75 in chamber bucks, and third place will receive $50 in chamber bucks that must be used at a local participating vendor. Be sure to look for the Elf on the Shelf!
There will be a drawing for someone from Vandalia to advance to the next phase in the KWWR 96 “Christmas in the Country” give-a-way. The station is featuring a give-a-way, worth over $27,788.00 in cash value.

Check out the Martinsburg Area Community Betterment Memory Tree. Remember your loved ones with an ornament on the Angel Tree.
Each ornament is $5 and may be purchased from any Community Betterment Member at the Martinsburg Library or Fennewald Pump Service.
There will also be a special tree lighting on Sunday, December 8 at 6 p.m., located at the Nativity Scene in downtown Martinsburg. Refreshments following in the Martinsburg Community Room.
All ornament orders must be placed by Tuesday, December 3.
