Community R-VI Baseball Coach Joel Krato said that the Trojans had a 1-13 record last year.
They lost Matt Gastler and Cordell Hollenstiener to graduation last year.
This season though, expectations for the team are to go out every single practice and get better for districts, and to hopefully compete for a title.
“Our pitching staff and positions hasn’t been set in stone yet.” Krato said.
“We’ve got a bunch of guys who can take the mound and compete. Offensively, I think we got a bunch of kids that can step up and compete with whomever is on the mound. We’re going to be disciplined and aggressive at the same time.”
He added, ”Defensively, we need to go out and make the routine plays. Got to get 21 outs to win and we got to make sure we get those outs our routine.”
