The 43rd Annual Vandalia Area Fair is next week

VANDALIA—The schedule of events is now set for the 43rd Annual Vandalia Area Fair. Some new events are planned for this year such as the LinCo Diesel Truck Pull on Thursday July 11 at 7 p. m., and Joey Wray will perform at 8 p.m. on Friday night July 12. The Vandalia Area Fair will begin Wednesday, July 10 with the Ice Cream and Cake Social at the Fairgrounds at 5:30 p.m. and continue through Saturday July 13.
Admission is free for everyone on Wednesday July 10, and ages three and under are free each day.
Opening the 43rd Annual Vandalia Area Fair is an Ice Cream and Cake Social at 5:30 p.m., and there will be entertainment from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
A Baby Show is slated for 6:30 p.m.
Kids games are also scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
At 7 p.m. there will be the FFA and 4-H Cattle Show.
Always a big hit will be a Mud Pig Catch at 7:30 p.m.
And Jayson Orr Entertainment will close out the evening at 7:30 p.m.
Admission on Thursday July 11 will be $10 for adults and $5 per child.
Events begin at 6 p.m. with a Pedal Tractor Pull, and also there will be Face Painting at 6 p.m.
The LinCo Diesel Truck Pull will begin at 7 p.m., and an Acoustic Song Swap is also slated for 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday, July 12 Admission is $6 for adults, and $ for children.
A Back Seat Driver Contest will be held at 6 p.m.
Also at 6 p.m., there is a Dash-4-Cash Jackpot Horse Show.
There is a Talent Show at 6 p.m.
The Missouri Farm Pullers will begin at 7 p.m.
And Joey Wray Entertainment will be performing at 8 p.m.
Admission for Saturday finishing out the fair on Saturday will be $6 or adults, and $3 for children.
The day will begin at 8 a.m. with a Tractor Cruise.
At 9 a.m. the FFA and 4H will be having a Hog Show.
The Hot Rods and Handlebars car and motorcycle Poker Run will begin at 10 a.m.
In the afternoon volleyball will kick off the afternoon with a Tournament.
There will also be a Washer Tournament beginning at 4 p.m.
The Vandalia Go Kart Association will begin Hot Laps at 5 p.m., and begin races at 6 p.m.
At 5:30 p.m., kids games will begin.
At 6 p.m., the Fun Horse Show will begin featuring Training Barrels, Peewee Barrels, Adult and Youth 3D Barrels, Open 4D Barrels, Training Poles, Peewee Poles, Youth 2D Poles, and Open 2D Poles.
To cap off the evening, Close Enough For County will be performing from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
