The Audrain County Health Department conducted a thorough inspection of the County Market facility Saturday, November 16. In attendance were individuals from Niemann Foods, Klingner & Associates, contract personnel, and ACHD.
As of Saturday, November 16 at 3 p.m., both the ACHD and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources approved that the renovation of the County Market facility may resume. From a Public Health standpoint, renovation work may continue as long as the previously approved plans for protection of food, drug, and cosmetic products is maintained.
At this time, the majority of perishable or adulterated food, drug, and cosmetic products have been appropriately handled and released from official embargo by ACHD for final disposition.
The remaining non-perishable or unadulterated food, drug, and cosmetic products are still under official embargo until renovation is complete and can be released. This is anticipated to occur during the pre-opening inspection accomplished by ACHD.
Through the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) concept all entities are working together, communicating, and planning effectively in addressing this situation as quickly and efficiently as possible.
