The Community R-VI School Board approved the sale of a partial acre and temporary easement of land to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) as part of an upcoming roundabout project scheduled for in front of the school.
The sale of .06 acre and temporary easement of .05 acre was unanimously approved.
Community R-VI Superintendent Cheryl Mack stated that when they ran the title check, it wasn’t under Community R-VI. Originally, it was under Audrain R-VI and it was never formally changed to Community R-VI. Yet somewhere down the line it was Audrain R-VI, also called Community R-VI.
The sale effects very little of the district’s current property. It does affect just a small part where FFA has their sign.
Other reports from
Superintendent Mack went over several items with the board during the meeting.
She reported that with the changes in the Democrats taking over the House, that there may be more federal control over education. One of these is making sure that in education that there is “equitable opportunity rather than equal opportunity.” “This is not always equal, but it makes it a level playing field for all students.”
