The Vandalia Leader recognizes the “Person of the Week” that has been nominated by the readers. The criteria is someone that is giving back by being a productive and caring member of the community.
This week’s “Person of the Week” is Felicity Goodpasture-Culwell.
Goodpasture-Culwell is the chairperson of the YMCA Steering Committee, a substitute teacher, leads an exercise group, is an active member at First Presbyterian Church, and is actively involved with kids in sports.
She’s also working hard with Arbonne, Channel Seed and Farm, and Culwell Custom Spraying.
“I’m very humbled (by the nomination),” she said. “(Helping others) is something I feel my parents and grandparents instilled in me and it’s just something you do. Being caring and working hard are just a part of life. “No” is not involved in my vocabulary.”
The person nominating her said “she sets a great example for us- loving wife and mother, friend to everyone, substitute teacher, volunteer, runner, etc. Felicity strives to help others be fit and active. She leads a group of women three times a week in exercise at Angela’s Dance Company before most people even get out of bed. She is our local Arbonne representative for protein shakes, and many other various supplements. She has a strong work ethic. Without her willingness to take hold of the YMCA project, we would not be pulling together…I really appreciate her dedication and commitment.”
