Lady Indians win Consolation title

The Van-Far Lady Indians softball team rallied from an opening night loss to Wright City by winning three of their final four games last week and finishing fifth in the Hallsville Tournament. Van-Far was the No. 6 seed entering the tournament.
“(Winning) consolation in this tournament is a big boost for us mentally,” Rowden said. “This should give us some confidence going into conference play. I was really proud of the girls; it was a very long day and everyone got to see some playing time. I really appreciated the younger girls going that normally play JV. They helped out by cheering and pinch running.”
