JOSEPH MERVIN HADEN

Joseph Mervin Haden, age 80, of Frankford passed away Tuesday August 17, 2010 at Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Saturday August 21, 2010 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Richard Epperson officiating.  Burial was in the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.  Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He was born September 17, 1929 in Frankford, the son of Joseph Leo and Ruby Grace Strother Haden.  On April 29, 1950, he married Martha McMillen.  She preceded him in death on March 6, 2005. 
Survivors include children Robert (Bob) Haden and wife Cathy of Frankford, Lester (Lee) Haden and Julia of Garden City, Gary Haden and wife Sheila of Columbia, Lesa Spegal and husband Steve of Frankford; Grandchildren Mindy Koester and husband Darin, Corey Haden and wife Kirsten, Kara Haden, Kami Claridge and husband Jake, Chris Haden, Andrea Spegal, Erin Yates; great-grandchildren Jordan Finnigan, Joshua Calvin, Austin and Luke Koester, Brett, Grace, Logan and Ellie Jo Haden, Kennedy and McKena Claridge and Clark Yates; one sister Marjorie Rau and husband Fred of Arnold and one sister-in-law Mildred Haden of Madison, Wisc.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson Neal Haden; brothers Floyd and Donald Haden and sister Louanna Haden Halsey. 
He graduated from Frankford High School in 1947.  He lived and worked on the family Century Farm.  He was a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local No. 21.  Mr. Haden also owned and operated Haden Feed and Seed for many years.  Upon retiring from farming, he drove a school bus for the Bowling Green R–1 School District.  He was a member of the Frankford Christian Church.  He enjoyed baseball and softball, attending almost all games at Frankford Khoury League. He also enjoyed fishing. 
Serving as pallbearers were Bob Haden, Lester (Lee) Haden, Gary Haden, Corey Haden, Brett Haden and Steve Spegal.  Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Frankford Christian Church Awana Program or to the Pike County Hospice.
