USDA provides big grants to Vandalia

Several state and City of Vandalia officials converged on Tri-County Park last week for a mock check ceremony in which the city was awarded $31,810 from USDA Rural Development. The funds were used to purchase two new early storm warning sirens and one new patrol car, which was parked at the site of the ceremony. The assistance consists of a Community Facilities Disaster Grant for $15,910 for the patrol car and a $15,900 Community Facilities Grant for the two sirens.
