Williams gets Lifesaver Award

Corrections Officer I Ellen “Ann” Williams was honored August 19, 2010, with a Lifesaver Award Ceremony at the Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center.
The Lifesaver Award is presented to individuals who have stepped forward and taken extraordinary action to save, or attempt to save, the life of another person.
On April 4, 2010, Corrections Officer I Ellen “Ann” Williams responded to an offender who was choking in the dining room during the lunch meal.
Officer Williams performed two abdominal thrusts which dislodged the object the offender was choking on allowing the offender to begin breathing again on her own.
