A new exhibit will be on display at the Vandalia Area Historical Society Museum Saturday, April 19, on the museum’s opening day. Pictured is Joy Davis with her collection of dolls from the 1950s into the 1960s. Joy received many of the dolls from her mother, Amanda Lee Culwell, her grandmother, Margaret Mitchell, and her great-aunt, Joyselee Matthews.
A few of the dolls from her collection include Chatty Cathy, Thumbelina, Hedda Get Bedda, American Indian dolls, Mexican dolls, and many more.
Museum hours are Saturdays from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sundays from noon – 3 p.m. Additional tours for groups or individuals may be arranged by calling 573-594-3026 or 573-594-3999.
