The Monday Study Club met at 2 p.m. on September 9 at the United Methodist Church. Ann Foreman was the hostess. The meeting was called to order by the president, Deedie Reading. Reading also led the pledges to the American and Christian flags.
Doris Ray had the devotional based on Psalm 106, entitled “Our Changing World.” Ray closed with prayer.
Reading presented a memorial service for Joyce Hesse. She used Psalm 23 as the text for her message. Roll call was answered by 10 members using the word “obey.”
Foreman was in charge of the special duty, “Our Appointed Service,” based on John 21. She also led the question and answer session. Val Galloway was in charge of the special study. She read an article entitled “Grandmother Says,” and an entertaining article about an argument between the pastor and the choir direction.
Other members that were present was Donna DeTienne, Beverly Largent, Jackie Marshall, Kay Reading, Helen Thompson, and Edna Mae Wallace. The meeting was adjourned as all members recited the Club Collect in unison. The next meeting will be on September 23 at the United Methodist Church with Val Galloway as the hostess and Ann Foreman will be giving the special study.
