Vandalia area residents who are tired of driving out of town to get their favorite Mexican dish can now stay closer to home thanks to the recent opening of the Mi Hacienda Mexican Restaurant at 1465 E. Highway 54.
Owners Antonio Barajas and Jose Lopez along with Jose’s wife Nelleke Barajas opened the establishment on June 18 and have been receiving favorable reviews from their patrons ever since.
“A lot of people are already raving about the food and saying the food is very good and everything,” said Nelleke Barajas. “…We’ve had people say it gets better every time they come in.”
Nelleke Barajas added that the owners, who have 17-20 years of industry experience with previous time spent in Mississippi, are thankful for the response.
“We’re very pleased with the hospitality of Vandalia,” she said. “It’s been phenomenal and we appreciate the warm welcome from everybody…They’re excited they don’t have to drive that far (any more).”
Mi Hacienda offers a wide variety of Mexican food including a large array of fajitas and molcahete. Featured listings in their extensive menu include seafood, fajitas, beef, vegetarian dinners, appetizers, house specialties, pork, chicken, salads, lunch specials, and a kids menu.
