The Lady Trojans opened the week by cruising past Wright City 55-28. Community R-VI led 33-15 at halftime and never looked by in a 27-point victory.
“I was very excited about the balanced scoring attack we had tonight,” said Community R-VI head coach Bob Curtis. “With almost four players in double figures, I was pleased with how we shared the ball this evening.”
Samm Jett scored nine of her team-high 20 points in the first quarter to set the tone. She added another nine points in the third quarter to seal the win.
“It was nice to get off to a good start in our first EMO Conference games of the season,” Curtis added.
Emmalee McCoskey had 12 points, Amelia Knipfel added 10 points, and Danielle Brooks tallied nine points.
On Thursday, the Lady Trojans traveled to Monroe City and left with a 54-20 victory.
The Lady Trojans led 18-6 at the end of the first quarter and never looked back in the 34-point victory. Community R-VI held Monroe City to six points or less in all four quarters.
“Our press was effective and our guards were very aggressive getting some easy transition buckets,” Curtis said.
