The Van-Far Lady Indians had a big turnaround to their season last week after winning two of the three games they played, with second victory coming over Class 4 Mexico. Their win Friday night came at home against Silex.
“We have been working on communicating better on both sides of the floor and being more aggressive,” said Van-Far head coach Kelly Borchert. “We are hoping these two good wins against Silex and Mexico will keep our momentum going through next week and into our three tournaments in January. We knew going into our games against Silex and Mexico that we would need to push the ball up the floor quickly in order to be successful offensively and defensively. We knew both teams would be bigger than us so we would have to look to get turnovers quickly and crash the boards.”
In the Gary Filbert Classic on Saturday, the Van-Far Lady Indians knocked off Class 4 Mexico for the second year in a row. This time, Van-Far beat Mexico, 53-44.
