There won’t be any lack of something to do come Thursday when the nation, and the people of Laddonia, celebrate the Fourth of July Thursday.
It’s tradition, dating back to the summer of 1952.
Plenty of activities, culminated of course by fireworks, are on the long schedule for the annual Laddonia celebration.
Right on the heels of the Vandalia Area Fair, the Fourth of July celebration continues the offering of activities for everyone in the area.
Laverne Davis, president of the group of a handful of people, said the celebration comes about largely because of her desire to keep the event alive in memory of her father.
“When I was a little bitty girl, my dad would bring me to the event. I remember if it would rain and they didn’t get to do the fireworks, I would cry.
