Before Hot Chocolate and cookies, the children all gathered around Santa Claus for a photo.

Laddonia held it’s annual tree lighting event and had a visit from Santa Claus on Thursday, December 6 at City Park.
The program was opened with Pastor Chris Atkinson, of the First Baptist Church in Laddonia, giving a prayer over the evening’s celebration.
Laddonia Mayor Monte Hanson read the story of the birth of Jesus Christ, followed by Alderman Eric Craft reading about Mary visiting Elizabeth.
Alderman Glenn Jensen read Mary’s song and Alderman Francis Hunn read Zechariah’s song.
After the readings, Pastor Atkinson spoke a few words about the “Reason for the Season.”
Those in attendance sang “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” followed by the lighting of the tree.
After the tree lighting, those attending joined together in singing “Away in the Manger” and “We wish you a Merry Christmas.”
Then from a distance, there was heard the fire truck siren on a truck bringing in Santa Claus.
Everyone moved from the Tree Lighting to welcome Santa to Laddonia.
Santa, upon exiting the fire truck, visited some youngsters and took the opportunity for a few photos before entering the warmth of the First Baptist Church for cookies, hot chocolate, and a visit with Santa.
