Born October 4, 1922, Helen passed away peacefully on November 13, 2013, at her home in Garden Grove, Calif., with her daughters by her side.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Al Driscoll and parents and longtime Vandalia residents, Joyce and Bryan Winders. She was the loving sister to Mary Lou Smith, of Vandalia; wonderful mother to Joyce Chaki, Patt Castleman and Terry Driscoll; adoring grandma, great grandma, and aunt. Helen proudly served as an Army medical tech at the end of WWll.
She loved sewing, crocheting and doing any kind of crafts that kept her busy.
The most important thing to her was family. She loved unconditionally and whole heartedly.  Her hugs and giggles will be greatly missed but our hearts will  forever be filled with many wonderful memories.
There will be a service with full military honors to celebrate Helen’s wonderful life on Friday, Dec. 6th at 2:30 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, Calif. 92518.
