Georgia Jewell Mason, 96, of Wellsville, formerly of Bowling Green, passed away Oct. 1, 2013 at the Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Friday Oct. 4, at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home with Rev. Don Amelung officiating. Burial was in the Bowling Green Cemetery. Visitation was Friday from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Jewell was born near Bowling Green, Nov. 3, 1916 the daughter of George and Margaret Houchins Springer. She married Edward L. Mason in Mexico in 1932 and he preceded her in death Oct. 28, 2010.
Survivors include a niece Delores Wilson and her husband Harold of Mexico and their family. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister Cornelia Harlinger.
Mrs. Mason lived most of her life in Bowling Green until moving to Mexico in 2010. Due to her health she moved to Gamma Road Lodge in 2012. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Bowling Green and was a member of the Friendship and Service Club for many years. Jewell enjoyed making quilts, doing crafts and working in the garden.
