Gary Rose, 55, of Vandalia formerly of Bowling Green, passed away Feb. 26, 2013 at the Pike County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m., Friday, March 1 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. John Birkhead officiating. Burial was in the Green Lawn Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday Feb. 28 at the funeral home.
Gary was born Nov. 2, 1957 in Louisiana, the son of Charles Elmer and Dema Ruth Kuntz Rose.
He is survived by three brothers Gene Rose of Elsberry, Ronnie Rose and wife Trish of Fredricktown, Earl Rose and wife Robin of Bowling Green; two sisters Beatrice Cole of Jefferson City, Ruth Ann Reid and husband Everett of Bowling Green; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary Jo Hays and a nephew Shawn Ebers.
Gary grew up in Whiteside and attended school in Clopton. He later moved to Bowling Green, where he lived until he recently moved to Vandalia. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he was a deacon and sang in the choir. Gary worked for Abels Oil Company where he worked as a maintenance man and cashier, serving the two Bowling Green locations. Serving as pallbearers were Chuck Rose, Joey Hamlett, Travis Hays, Justin Rose, Dean Reed, J.B. Kuntz. Serving as honorary pallbearer was Eddie Kuntz.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
