Services for Faye Elizabeth Clark, 93, of Vandalia, were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Vandalia First Christian Church with Reverend Jamie Franke officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Vandalia.
Visitation was held on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Services were under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home.
Mrs. Clark passed away at 5:30 p.m., August 9, 2013 at Tri County Care Center in Vandalia.
She was born August 3, 1920 in Mexico, the daughter of Jesse Fay and Carrie Elizabeth Boeger Toalson.
She was married to Harry A. Clark on May 27, 1955 in Hannibal and he preceded her in death March 6, 1987.
In addition to her special friends, the Earlene Hopke family, she is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde, Grover, and Glenn Toalson; one infant brother; and one infant sister.
Mrs. Clark grew up in Hannibal and was a 1938 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Hannibal High School and a graduate of Chillicothe Business College. She worked as a stenographer and bookkeeper for numerous firms including Martin Construction Co. in Hannibal for 13 years and then Tri-County Nursing home for 10 years.
She moved to Vandalia in 1955 and retired in 1980.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Vandalia and the Loyal Workers Sunday School Class.
She was a 50 year member and Past Matron of the Fulton Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 35 and a former member of the Vandalia Business and Professional Women.
She was dedicated to her church and enjoyed gospel music.
Her hobbies were playing the organ, shopping, and visiting friends.
Pallbearers were Jim Elzea, Tony Owens, Greg Stuart, Robert Gregory, Brian Snodgrass, and Rex Moore.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church in Vandalia or Central Christian College in Moberly.
