The following are meeting minutes from the Farber Board of Aldermen’s regular March 11 meeting.
CORRECTION: Farber Police Officer Jason Maskey is allotted no more than 40 hours per month. The allotment was misprinted in the February 20 issue of The Vandalia Leader.
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Farber met in regular session at City Hall at 5 p.m. Monday, March 11.
The following were present: Mayor John Hodde; Alderpersons Lynn Flowers, Ronald Greenplate Gary Stubblefield, and Tony Shade; and City Clerk Marie Bounds.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. The listing of accounts payable was presented and approved.
Four mowing bids were received. A motion was made and seconded to award the bid on all properties except the lift station to Mickey Mink. Motion carried.
The city clerk informed the board that an insurance claim for lightning damage to the emergency siren had been paid.
An ordinance reaffirming the gross receipts tax to be imposed upon electric corporations was read twice by title only and passed by unanimous vote. This is the same gross receipts tax of 4.91% that has been paid for many years.
Scott Allen reported on the Water and Sewer Department. He said they had to call the City of Vandalia for the use of their sewer washer to open a sewer line. Also, VanDevanter Engineering of St. Louis performed maintenance on the lift station.
Police Officer Jason Maskey was present. He asked whether to use whether to use the Audrain County jail or Pike County jail if he needed to arrest someone. The board left that decision to him.
The meeting was adjourned until 5 p.m. April 8.
