The Audrain County Sheriff’s Office will host an 8-hour concealed carry weapons training class on Saturday, May 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The class will consist of 4 hours of classroom training in the Training Room of the Sheriff’s Office and 4 hours of firearms training at the Firing Range behind the Sheriffs’ Office.
People interested in taking the class shall register at the Sheriff’s Office between 8 a.m. through 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, contact Deputies Eliza Driskill or Danielle Scrogin at 573-473-5801, ext. 231. The deadline to register is by noon on Wednesday, May 14. The cost for registration is $100.
Students shall bring with them both a semi-auto revolver and 100 rounds of ammunition for each handgun, plus a ball cap, earplugs/muffs, protective glasses, and holsters for their handguns. The Sheriff’s Office has a couple of semi auto and revolver handguns for students who do not own a firearm; students shall contact Lieutenant Matt Oller if they will need to borrow one of the Sheriff’s handguns, at 573-473-5801, ext. 227.
