1967 Van-Far football team to be honored
Sep 29 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

There are plans to honor players from Van-Far’s 1967 football team during halftime of the Indians’ home football game on Friday, September 29 against North Callaway.
It has been 50 years since this group represented the district on the gridiron.
The Van-Far Booster Club is asking area residents to attend the game that evening to be apart of the special tribute to these former Indians football players.

Addicts Victorious has moved meeting site @ Unity Outreach Building

The Addicts Victorious meetings have moved to the Unity Outreach building at 210 S. Main, in Vandalia. Meetings are every Monday at the new location 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Retirees to meet Oct. 4 at Presser, Mexico
Oct 4 @ 10:30 am – 11:30 am

The Audrain County Area Public School Retirees meeting will be October 4 at Presser Performing Arts Center located at 900 S Jefferson in Mexico at 10:30 a.m. The program will be presented by Lois Brace and Liz Washer. Each member is asked to bring a brown bag lunch with the social committee providing a drink and dessert. All public school retirees are welcome to attend. All-Town Sale set for Saturday, October 7

The Fall 2017 All-Town Yard Sale for the City of Vandalia is scheduled for Saturday, October 7. Starting with the Fall sale, “The Vandalia Leader” is the new sponsor.
The registration fee remains $10 and is due Friday, September 29. Ads will be printed on a map inserted in the October 4 issue. More announcements coming soon for the upcoming sale. Registration forms are now available inside “The Vandalia Leader” office, located at 108 W. State St. in Vandalia.

Inspiration Night in Farber on October 8
Oct 8 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Farber Baptist Inspiration Night will begin at 6:15 p.m. Sunday evening, October 8 with a concert by “Joyful Sound.” At 7 p.m., the inspirational speaker will be Brad Newbold, the Worship Pastor of Concord Baptist Church in Jefferson City.
Refreshments will be served after the service. This culminates a special outreach program.
The Reverend Jerry Ostrom is pastor of the church.

On Thursday, October 12, at 8:30 a.m., Pike County Health Department will be offering a Basic Life Support Course for Healthcare providers. Registration is required, call 573-324-2111.

23rd Annual Hospice Memorial Service

On Thursday, October 12 at 6 p.m. at the Church of Nazarene, Bowling Green Pike County Hospice will be hosting its 23rd Annual Hospice Memorial Service, which will be open to the public with cake, punch, a memorial slide show, gifts, and more. St. Brendan’s Dinner Auction

Tickets are on sale for the 36th Annual St. Brendan’s Dinner Auction. Tickets are $30 each and include a seat reservation for the October 13 dinner auction in the Pat Piper Branch Parish Hall.
Tickets are sold at the Parish office, where seats are also saved on the seating chart.Tickets must be purchased in advanced as they are not sold at the door.
This year’s dinner auction theme is a Hawaiian Luau! Your ticket gets you a dinner, featuring pork loin, cooked by the Audrain County Pork Producers; admittance into the live and silent auction as well as the dance after all events.
All proceeds go to St. Brendan’s School. Last year’s funds were used for items like new textbooks, technology updates, athletic equipment and much more!
