    1. VFTA Carnival set for April 1 @ Van-Far Elementary School
      5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Van-Far Teachers’ Association will be hosting the annual VFTA Carnival on April 1, 2016 from 5-8 p.m.  Admission will be $1 for everyone.  Carnival games will be free.  The Carnival will also include activities and concession such as an Obstacle Course, Bouncy House, Cotton Candy, Popcorn, Face Painting, Wii Games, and Pie in the Face.  These events will require Activity Coupons which will be available for purchase at the door.  A Silent Auction is being planned from 5-7:30 featuring half a hog, hams, a variety of baskets, etc.  Local vendors will also be set up with their displays.
      A Pork Burger and Hot Dog meal will be available for $5.
      The proceeds from the Carnival go to support the annual VFTA Scholarships for graduating seniors.

          Come join the Ralls county 4-H at its “Annual Fundraiser Dinner” on Sunday, April 10 at the Mark Twain High School. The meal will be served from 11 am.-1:30 p.m. Carry-outs will be available. The meal consists of a pork chop, tater casserole, slaw, green beans, rolls, drink, and homemade dessert. Tickets are $7 per meal.

        1. Van-Far set for April 15 Mock Accident @ Van-Far High School
          9:45 am – 10:45 am

          Van-Far will be holding a Mock Accident on Friday, April 15 at around 9:45 a.m. at the high school for grades 7-12. The students will be making the 9-1-1 call in the morning. The Mock Accident will be held in the bus loop site at the school.
          Participating agencies will be Vandalia Auto Sales, Van-Far Ambulance District, Farber Fire Department, Vandalia Fire Department, Staff of Life helicopter, and Missouri Highway Patrol Sgt. Scott White of Troop F. Sgt. White will present a program following the docu-drama in the gym. Parents may have students opt out of one or both presentations due to them being graphic.
          The event is being held through the direction of Kathy Allen, Van-Far nurse, and Jeff Scrogin, SRO Officer.

          The Second Annual Laddonia Athletic Association Bingo Night will be on April 16 at Robnett Crop Insurance, south building, in Laddonia, Mo. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and games start at 6 p.m. featuring 20 games for $20 and door prizes. Raffle tickets will be available for $1 each or 6 for $5. Winners will receive Pampered Chef, Longaberger Baskets, 31, Initials, Scentsy or other gift cards up for grabs. Proceeds will be used for the Annual Fourth of July Celebration.

          Rev up those engines; it’s time for the 13th Annual Martinsburg Cruise Night! This year’s festivities will be held rain or shine on Friday, April 22 from 5-8 p.m.
          The annual car show fundraiser brings together car and motorcycle enthusiasts, plus raises money for the upkeep of the Martinsburg Community Room/Branch Library as well as various other community undertakings.
          This event is a crowd favorite with trophies awarded to Best Car, Truck, Motorcycle, Antique, Race car, Street Rod, Muscle Car, Roadster, and Best of Show.
          Music Express is providing DJ and music services. In case car enthusiasts need a pit stop, concessions will be served by Martinsburg Area Community Betterment. Commemorative T-shirts will be available for $15.
          The Community Betterment organization hopes attendees stop by to enjoy an evening of cars, food, music, and friends.

        1. Wild Flowers Walks set for Sunday, April 24 @ Scattering Fork Outdoor Center
          2:00 pm – 4:30 pm

          Enjoy Wild Flower Walks at Scattering Fork Outdoor Center on Sunday, April 24 from 2-4:30 p.m.
          Walk the trails and enjoy masses of blooming wild flowers. Taste violet jelly and five other homemade wild jellies. Learn how to create a container garden taught by the Garden Club. Play Wildflower Bingo and go on a Woods Scavenger Hunt. Make, plant, and take a paper grow pot. This is a free activity with donations encouraged for families, singles,  and friends. All are welcome.           SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Audrain will host a free lunch and learn on “Outpatient Solutions to Common Orthopedic Problems” on Tuesday, April 26, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Jansen Auditorium, 620 East Monroe St., in Mexico.
          Dr. Rick White and Carrie Lucas, FNP, with SSM Health Orthopedics will cover carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff tears, and disorders of the shoulder as well as causes of knee pain and more.
          Dr. White is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and general orthopedics. He attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Missouri. After residency, he completed a one-year fellowship in sports medicine at Baylor Sports Medicine Institute in Houston, Texas, where he was actively involved in the care of athletes on the Houston Astros baseball team, the Houston Texans National Football League team, and with the athletes from the University of Houston. Dr. White is board certified in orthopedics, has a subspecialty certification in sports medicine, and treats disorders of the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow, and wrist. He specializes in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery.

          SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Audrain will host a free lunch and learn on “Outpatient Solutions to Common Orthopedic Problems” on Tuesday, April 26, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Jansen Auditorium, 620 East Monroe St., in Mexico.
          Dr. Rick White and Carrie Lucas, FNP, with SSM Health Orthopedics will cover carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff tears, and disorders of the shoulder as well as causes of knee pain and more.
          Dr. White is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and general orthopedics. He attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Missouri. After residency, he completed a one-year fellowship in sports medicine at Baylor Sports Medicine Institute in Houston, Texas, where he was actively involved in the care of athletes on the Houston Astros baseball team, the Houston Texans National Football League team, and with the athletes from the University of Houston. Dr. White is board certified in orthopedics, has a subspecialty certification in sports medicine, and treats disorders of the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow, and wrist. He specializes in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery.

          The Van-Far Teachers’ Association will be hosting the annual VFTA Carnival on April 1, 2016 from 5-8 p.m.  Admission will be $1 for everyone.  Carnival games will be free.  The Carnival will also include activities and concession such as an Obstacle Course, Bouncy House, Cotton Candy, Popcorn, Face Painting, Wii Games, and Pie in the Face.  These events will require Activity Coupons which will be available for purchase at the door.  A Silent Auction is being planned from 5-7:30 featuring half a hog, hams, a variety of baskets, etc.  Local vendors will also be set up with their displays.
          A Pork Burger and Hot Dog meal will be available for $5.
          The proceeds from the Carnival go to support the annual VFTA Scholarships for graduating seniors.

          This event is a crowd favorite with trophies awarded to Best Car, Truck, Motorcycle, Antique, Race car, Street Rod, Muscle Car, Roadster, and Best of Show.

          SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Audrain will host a free lunch and learn on “Outpatient Solutions to Common Orthopedic Problems” on Tuesday, April 26, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Jansen Auditorium, 620 East Monroe St., in Mexico.
          Dr. Rick White and Carrie Lucas, FNP, with SSM Health Orthopedics will cover carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff tears, and disorders of the shoulder as well as causes of knee pain and more.
          Dr. White is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and general orthopedics. He attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Missouri. After residency, he completed a one-year fellowship in sports medicine at Baylor Sports Medicine Institute in Houston, Texas, where he was actively involved in the care of athletes on the Houston Astros baseball team, the Houston Texans National Football League team, and with the athletes from the University of Houston. Dr. White is board certified in orthopedics, has a subspecialty certification in sports medicine, and treats disorders of the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow, and wrist. He specializes in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery.

          The Van-Far Teachers’ Association will be hosting the annual VFTA Carnival on April 1, 2016 from 5-8 p.m.  Admission will be $1 for everyone.  Carnival games will be free.  The Carnival will also include activities and concession such as an Obstacle Course, Bouncy House, Cotton Candy, Popcorn, Face Painting, Wii Games, and Pie in the Face.  These events will require Activity Coupons which will be available for purchase at the door.  A Silent Auction is being planned from 5-7:30 featuring half a hog, hams, a variety of baskets, etc.  Local vendors will also be set up with their displays.
          A Pork Burger and Hot Dog meal will be available for $5.
          The proceeds from the Carnival go to support the annual VFTA Scholarships for graduating seniors.

          The annual car show fundraiser brings together car and motorcycle enthusiasts, plus raises money for the upkeep of the Martinsburg Community Room/Branch Library as well as various other community undertakings.
          This event is a crowd favorite with trophies awarded to Best Car, Truck, Motorcycle, Antique, Race car, Street Rod, Muscle Car, Roadster, and Best of Show.
          Music Express is providing DJ and music services. In case car enthusiasts need a pit stop, concessions will be served by Martinsburg Area Community Betterment. Commemorative T-shirts will be available for $15.

          Dr. Rick White and Carrie Lucas, FNP, with SSM Health Orthopedics will cover carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff tears, and disorders of the shoulder as well as causes of knee pain and more.
          Dr. White is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and general orthopedics. He attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Missouri. After residency, he completed a one-year fellowship in sports medicine at Baylor Sports Medicine Institute in Houston, Texas, where he was actively involved in the care of athletes on the Houston Astros baseball team, the Houston Texans National Football League team, and with the athletes from the University of Houston.         1. VFTA Carnival set for April 1 @ Van-Far Elementary School
          5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

          The Van-Far Teachers’ Association will be hosting the annual VFTA Carnival on April 1, 2016 from 5-8 p.m.  Admission will be $1 for everyone.  Carnival games will be free.  The Carnival will also include activities and concession such as an Obstacle Course, Bouncy House, Cotton Candy, Popcorn, Face Painting, Wii Games, and Pie in the Face.  These events will require Activity Coupons which will be available for purchase at the door.  A Silent Auction is being planned from 5-7:30 featuring half a hog, hams, a variety of baskets, etc.  Local vendors will also be set up with their displays.
          A Pork Burger and Hot Dog meal will be available for $5.
          The proceeds from the Carnival go to support the annual VFTA Scholarships for graduating seniors.

          Come join the Ralls county 4-H at its “Annual Fundraiser Dinner” on Sunday, April 10 at the Mark Twain High School. The meal will be served from 11 am.-1:30 p.m. Carry-outs will be available. The meal consists of a pork chop, tater casserole, slaw, green beans, rolls, drink, and homemade dessert. Tickets are $7 per meal.
          The Silent Auction throughout the day includes tickets from the St. Louis Symphony, Branson Belle, Silver Dollar City, Cardinals, and more; plus themed baskets for Gardening, Family Fun Night, Massage and Pamper, Couples Weekend and more!
