New Harmony set for VBS July 13-15
Jul 13 @ 7:00 pm – Jul 15 @ 9:00 pm

Vacation Bible School (VBS) will be held at New Harmony Christian Church on July 13, 14, and 15. The “kick-off” will be on Thursday, July 13, with a swim party at the Vandalia Pool from 7-9 p.m.
On Friday, July 14, VBS will begin with a light supper being served at 5:30 p.m. at the church with classes, crafts, etc., continuing afterwards and ending at 8 p.m.
They will meet again on Saturday, July 15, from 9-11:30 a.m., and afterwards there will be a carry-in meal with hot dogs and drinks being furnished.
Sunday, July 16 will be “Youth Sunday” with the youth leading the entire service.
A Hymn Sing will be held during morning worship services on Sunday, July 2 at 9 a.m.. Everyone will be invited to request one of their favorite hymns to be sung during the service.
Everyone is invited and welcome at all services at New Harmony Christian Church.

The Vandalia Area Historical Society (VAHS) will meet on Saturday, July 15 at 9 a.m. in the Genealogy Library. Everyone is welcome at the VAHS meeting.

Magician slated for Vandalia’s library
Jul 17 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

The Vandalia Library will be having a free Magic Show on Monday, July 17 at 1 p.m. Children of all ages and adults are invited to see professional magician Rick Eugene, from Iowa, perform his awesome magic tricks.
The children participating in the Summer Reading program are reminded that the last day to return their reading log is July 17. The library is located at 401 S. Lincoln. If you have any questions, call 594-6600.

Addicts Victorious has moved meeting site @ Unity Outreach Building

The Addicts Victorious meetings have moved to the Unity Outreach building at 210 S. Main, in Vandalia. Meetings are every Monday at the new location 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Laddonia library to host magician

The Summer Program at the Laddonia Library begins July 17 at 6:30 p.m. with a Magic Show. Rick Eugene will perform “Magic Tricks” for all.

The Summer Program continues with the Department of Conservation on July 19 at 2 p.m. as Norman Steelman, with the Missouri Department of Conservation, will bring “creatures from the wild” for participants to touch and learn about Missouri wildlife.

The Addicts Victorious meetings have moved to the Unity Outreach building at 210 S. Main, in Vandalia. Meetings are every Monday at the new location 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Public information meeting for Prop A

The Van-Far R-I School District will be holding two public informational meetings regarding Proposition A, which is set for a vote during the Tuesday, August 8 election. Voters will be asked to authorize the school board to increase the operating tax levy ceiling from $3.3901 to $3.9701.
The first meeting is scheduled to be held at the Farber Library on Tuesday, July 25 at 6 p.m.
The meeting is open to the public and provide patrons an opportunity to ask questions while also learning more about the district’s financial situation and process.

The Van-Far R-I School District will be holding two public informational meetings regarding Proposition A, which is set for a vote during the Tuesday, August 8 election. Voters will be asked to authorize the school board to increase the operating tax levy ceiling from $3.3901 to $3.9701.
A second meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 27 at Van-Far Jr./Sr. High School.
The two meetings are open to the public and provide patrons an opportunity to ask questions while also learning more about the district’s financial situation and process.
