The Van-Far High School graduating class of 1972 held their 40th Class Reunion Saturday, August 11 at the Vandalia Country Club with 53 attending. The afternoon started at 2 p.m. with a tour of the Vandalia Historical Society. Mike Ray, a class member and brother of the museum’s President, gave the tour and an outstanding overview of the museum contents. Charlene Teague assisted Mike with the history of some of the contents. A tour of Van-Far High School followed at 4 p.m. After 40 years of walking out the door as a graduate, many classrooms still held secrets of their mischievous deeds and a couple of those were reminisced. All were amazed at the changes and improvements that have been made to their old high school.
The change most noted was the Indian that no longer is on the high school gym floor. They continued on with their reunion with a catered meal and hours of just getting reacquainted and visiting at the Vandalia Country Club.
