“Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service” is the theme for Catholic Schools Week. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Catholic Schools Week. To celebrate this anniversary our school has committed to completing 40 hours of community service.
Sunday, January 26, 2014 Faith, Knowledge and Service: In Our Parish
Opening Mass 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Juice, coffee and donuts to follow at St. Joseph Catholic School.
Monday, January 27, 2014 Faith, Knowledge and Service: In our Community
Dress: Dress Clothes
Students will listen to speakers from Audrain County Crisis Intervention Services (ACCIS) and donate “Socks of Love”.
Throughout the week of January 13-17, 2014 students donated change and dollar bills to purchase items for the “Socks of Love”. The 40 hours of community service includes students filling socks with travel and trail size health and hygiene items, “Socks of Love”.
Tuesday, January 28, 2014 Faith, Knowledge and Service: In our Faculty, Staff and Volunteers
Dress: Duck Dynasty Day (Students dress as the cast from the show: dresses, camo, jeans, bandanas, etc.)
Hot Lunch Day for students, staff and volunteers.
Taste of Kindergarten: Any child entering Kindergarten in August 2014 is invited to visit Mrs. Dawn McDowell’s classroom from 7:45 – 10:15 AM. All denominations welcome. For information call the school at 573-492-6283.
Wednesday, January 29, 2014 Faith, Knowledge and Service: In our Nation
Dress: Blue and Gold day, with uniform bottoms
Field Trip: Students will tour MO Highway Patrol Safety Education Center in Jefferson City, eat lunch at the Cathedral and end the day ice skating.
Thursday, January 30, 2014 Faith, Knowledge and Service: In Our Vocations
Dress: Black, red, green shirts (colors of the flag of Kenya) with jeans
Several of the participants will speak about their trip to Kenya and the water project.
Friday, January 31, 2014 Faith, Knowledge and Service: In Our Students
Dress: Wacky Day
The Mission Carnival in the afternoon. Money raised at the carnival is donated to charities/organizations selected by each class.
