Bienhoff Funeral Homes, L.C. have a new location and is open for business in Vandalia.
Cheryl Oligschlaeger, Funeral Director originally grew up in Vandalia. Her husband and funeral director Clyde Oligschlaeger was from Mexico and he had a grandfather and great uncle who owned a funeral home in Laddonia.
Through the years, Bienhoff Funeral Homes has had locations in Laddonia, Perry, Center, and now Vandalia.
“We always had a presence in Vandalia,” Cheryl Oligschlaeger said. “I always wanted a funeral home here if we ever went anywhere else, and it’s finally peaceful to do so.”
Bienhoff Funeral Homes closed on the Vandalia building, the former location of the VFW Hall in July of 2018.
Extensive renovations have been going on since that time. Keeping certain features such as the orginal single doors and creating a grand entrance with double doors, now entering into the chapel.
All funeral directors at Bienhoff Funeral Homes are knowledgeable in all aspects of funeral service. Currently there four licensed funeral directors and one apprentice that look forward to serving your families.
“We are excited about the opening of our new location in Vandalia on the year of our 75th anniversary here at Bienhoff Funeral Home.” Funeral director Austin Simmons said.
“We want to thank all of the families in the Vandalia area that have entrusted us to care for their family in the past and we look forward to becoming a working part of the community. The doors are open but several changes will be seen to our new facility in the months to come.”
