A former Van-Far student is making a big impact for the football team at Belton High School in the Kansas City, Mo. area.
Ayden Holt was most recently named the “Athlete of the Week” by KMBC Channel 9 in Kansas City, Mo. for his performance during a Class 5 district playoff game against a tough Raytown squad. Holt had 46 carries for 221 yards and four touchdowns to lift his team to a 35-7 victory. The sophomore didn’t start as the team’s running back until the last three games of the season.
On the defensive side of the ball, he added seven tackles, three sacks, and one interception return for a touchdown.
This year, he earned second-team all district honors on offense and defense. He is also ranked as on of the Top Ten Class of 2021 Kansas City, Mo. defensive players by sixstarfootball.com.
As a freshman last season, he played defense and started every game. At the end of the year, he lettered and received All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.
Holt continues to earn honors in academics, the track team, JV basketball team, and he is a part of the nationally-ranked power lifting team.
He is the son of Dustin Holt, Vandalia, and Shanta’ Wheeler, Belton, formerly of Vandalia.
He is also the great-grandson of William Wheeler, Sr., and grandson of Ms. Bobbie Jo Wheeler along with Mr. and Mrs. Terry Joe Holt, all of Vandalia.
