Approximately $7,000 raised from annual Fair fundraiser

John Wallace leads the auction during the annual Vandalia Area Fair event held last Saturday.

Approximately $7,000 was raised to benefit the Vandalia Area Fair during their annual Dinner Auction Fundraiser on Saturday night at the Sacred Heart Parish Center.
The event featured a fish fry and ham dinner, a silent auction of around a dozen items, and a live auction featuring around 110 items.
Some of the top auction items bringing in big dollars includes:
• Pioneer Seed-Chad Wallace, three bags of 1151AM Pioneer Seed Corn, $500
• Service & Supply Co-op from Bowling Green, six bags of Mycogen 10Z28 Rib Seed Corn, $500; 4 bags of Croplan 5290VT2P Rib Seed Corn, $200
• Spencer Creek Farms, Yeti Cooler, $150
• Trico Machine, Kenny Thurman, Redline “Fever Too” toy pulling tractor, $150
• Central Bank of Audrain County, Kansas City Chiefs signed football of Marcus Peters, $60
• Doris Nation’s angel food cake, $45
• Mary Jones, $20 bill plus a surprise, $140
• and so much more…
