In their regular meeting May 21, board members of Agape House of Vandalia were informed of the receipt of a grant of $1,000 from (St. Louis Baseball) Cardinals Care. The grant is to be used to benefit children; as in the past, this grant will be used to purchase fuel gift cards from local service stations and given to families bringing children to visit relatives in the state correctional facilities of Vandalia and Bowling Green.
In other business, the house manager reported the repair of a front porch light and plumbing in one restroom. Gravel has been delivered and spread in the guest parking lot. The United Way of Audrain County application for funding has been completed and delivered to the office in Mexico.
Thirty-seven guests stayed at the house in April.

The next meeting will be held June 18 at 4 p.m.
