The board learned 59 persons, including 11 children, had stayed at the guesthouse in January while they visited family members incarcerated at Bowling Green and Vandalia. “Painting with Success” at Van-Far

Several area residents of all ages enjoyed a “Painting with the Indians!” event on Saturday, February 28 at Van-Far Elementary School. Art Teacher Jenniffer Hanson led students in grades 3-12 along with adults in creating a masterpiece. Funds from those paying to participate along with those collected from donations go towards the “Beauty and the Beast” fundraiser. This will be the 2015 Van-Far School Play. The event raised $500.

    The Van-Far FFA Chapter hosted its annual BBQ on Saturday, February 28 at the High School. Students worked hard cooking the barbecue pork steaks on the grill and served several during the 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. event. The meals also included beans, coleslaw, potato salad, and homemade desserts. There were 370 meals served and approximately $2,000 was raised from the event.
