On May 17-18, the V.F.W. Auxillary Post No. 2173 will be passing out Buddy Poppies for donations. The money raised from the poppies will go toward the Veterans Home and Hospital, National Home for Children (home for orphans of our nation’s veterans), phone cards for wounded veterans in the hospital and for active duty personnel, flags for the cemeteries and other projects that support the veterans. Services will begin at 8 a.m. at the Curryville Cemetery, 8:30 a.m. at the Farber Cemetery, 9 a.m. at Memorial Garden, and 9:30 a.m. at the Vandalia Cemetery.
