Mark Twain runs over Van-Far/Community R-VI in 50-0 victory

Though the Van-Far/Community R-VI football team entered last Friday night’s game against Mark Twain with a 2-0 record, the Indians had yet to face team like the Tigers. Mark Twain won the battle on both the offensive and defensive lines by firing out low on their way to a 50-0 victory. The Tigers had 550 yards rushing in the win. The Indians started three first year lineman on the line.

  • Local runners enjoy chance at competing in 82 mile race

    Six area ladies recently formed a team and were among a select group of 200 teams that participated in “The GO! Missouri™” KT82 inaugural race on Saturday, August 30. The one day, 82-mile trail relay, featuring scenic trails like the Katy Trail, started at Creve Coeur Park in St. Louis County and finished in Hermann, Mo.     The Community R-VI Lady Trojans softball team started their season last week with a pair of tough road losses to Bowling Green and Marion County. In their season opener against the Lady Bobcats, errors plagued the Lady Trojans. Four first inning errors led to four runs while two more errors led to three runs in the second.     One year ago, the Van-Far/Community R-VI football team opened its season with a tough 49-0 loss to Living Word Christian of O’Fallon. They also lost the total yardage battle, 379-130. What a difference a year makes. With an influx of dedicated younger players and key leadership from its upperclassmen, the Indians crushed North Shelby 46-0 in its home opener last Friday night in Vandalia.
