Indians football team falls three yards short of win

The Van-Far/Community R-VI football was just three yards short of defeating Clopton/Elsberry last Friday night as the Indians lost the game in the final seconds, 14-12. Running back Conner Albrecht was tackled on the three yard line after a one yard gain as time expired.     Seasons came to an end for softball players at both Van-Far and Community R-VI this past week as Silex went on to win the Class 1, District 4 championship.     Two weeks ago, the Van-Far/Community R-VI senior football players enjoyed picking up a rare Homecoming win in the recent history of the program. This same group added another special victory this past Friday as they scored 18 unanswered points to beat Wright City on Senior Night, 24-18.     The Van-Far Lady Indians softball team scored two runs in the final inning against Wright City but were unable to complete the comeback on the road after a 5-4 loss.     The Van-Far Lady Indians softball team won two of five games in a busy schedule last week for the squad. Their first victory came against Wellsville behind 23 hits in a 17-9 victory.
