    The Community R-VI Trojans baseball team is feeling pretty good after it improved its overall record to 6-2 and 3-1 in the EMO Conference last week.     The Van-Far track and field team earned several medals at the Wright City Wildcat Relays last week. Sharrod Connor led the Indians by setting a personal record in the long jump by leaping 21’2” to win the event. He was also second in the triple jump, and third in both the 100 and 200 meters.     Van-Far’s struggles on the mound were difficult for the Indians to overcome last Friday when the baseball team fell to Hermann, 8-2.     Community R-VI players Connor Brooks and Samm Jett have each been named to the Class 1 All-State team. Brooks averaged 15 points per game as a senior this year for the Trojans. He also had 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game while making 73% of his free throws. He also scored 1,000 points in his career. Jett received the honors after scoring 20.1 points per game this season. For

    The Van-Far boys and girls track and field teams had several top eight performances in the Monroe City meet held last Thursday. The Indians battled through injuries to earn 50 team points for seventh place in the 11-team meet. Lathyn McMorris won the 1,600 meters with a time of 4:55.21. Sharrod Connor broke a personal record in the 100 meters with a time of 11.81 seconds for fourth place overall.
