Logan named Coach of the Year

Van-Far/Community R-VI head football coach Blake Logan announced last week that he has been selected as the KHQA Football Coach of the Year.     Wins were hard to come by for the Van-Far Lady Indians basketball team last season. They wasted little time picking up their first win of the 2014-2015 campaign as they traveled to Philadelphia, Mo. and left with an impressive 47-23 victory over Marion County.   • Indians continue to work on chemistry as season begins

    Van-Far head boys basketball coach Pat Connaway expected his young Indians to take a while to put things together during the 2014-2015 season. Every championship team needs to develop chemistry and that is what Van-Far’s players began working on in a pair of double-digit losses to open their season. On December 2, the Indians traveled to South Callaway and left with a 73-44 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs.

The 7th grade team went through a trial by fire when it participated in the Community R-VI 8th grade basketball tournament. The Indians opened with a 49-16 loss to North Callaway.
